Christians are people who have had a fundamental life changing encounter with the love of Christ. That means that something has happened in their life that let them know what Christ was all about.
Christ came to earth to teach us that people can live by the principle of self giving love.
Things are bad. Sometimes it seems that here is no justice, that life is totaly unfair, that nobody gives a damn about anybody but themselves.
What Christians believe is that the only things that really matter in life are the things you do for others. (See "What Christians Believe" for more information.)
Anybody who has come to this realization is a Christian.
Unfortunately, Christians are just people and they are not very good
at living by this principle. But being a Christian is a "road" not a "destination."
Some people are further along the road. Christians are people who are on
the road, headed in the right direction, not necessarily people who have
achieved this lofty goal.
